13 Year Veteran Lobbyist Adds Vast Experience, Knowledge, and Relationships to Elevate and Advance Policy Priorities for Industry Leaders
Washington, DC – Porterfield, Fettig & Sears, LLC (PFS), a leading bipartisan government relations firm, announced today that Abby Truhart is joining the firm as Vice President. Abby’s breadth and depth of experience in Washington policy making strengthens and expands the opportunities and probabilities of success for PFS, and most importantly – its clients.

Prior to joining PFS, Abby served as Vice President of Congressional Relations at the American Bankers Association (ABA), where she lobbied House and Senate Democrats on financial services policy impacting the banking industry and its customers. Before ABA, Abby worked for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) as the Senior Director of Advocacy, lobbying Democrats to advance credit unions and bring awareness to their mission and structure. Abby also served as CUNA’s Political Director, disbursing over $3.5 million to candidates running for Congress. Prior to CUNA, Abby led national PAC and grassroots action programs at the American College of Cardiology and the American Academy of Dermatology Association, contributing to increased visibility and overall engagement of specialty physician groups on Capitol Hill.
In addition, Abby has gained invaluable experiences volunteering for organizations that work for the betterment of women and children in Washington, D.C. She is a dedicated and committed member of her local community and served on the DC Commission for Women and the Executive Leadership Committee of the Metropolitan’s Women’s Democratic Club. Abby holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.
