Julia Fischer
Legislative Assistant
Julia Fischer is a Legislative Assistant at Porterfield, Fettig & Sears LLC (PFS). Prior to starting at PFS in 2024, she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar.
Previously, Fischer interned at The Wall Street Journal as their 2023 Robert L. Bartley Fellow for Arts Criticism. There, she developed her understanding of journalism and skills as a writer and editor. At the student-run publication The Daily Pennsylvanian, she served as Copy Editor and aided in the coverage of both campus and national news. In addition, Fischer’s position as a research assistant in political science furthered her interest in government and international policy.
A native of Northern Virginia, Fischer received her B.A. in Political Science and Hispanic Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She was accepted into Harvard Law School’s Junior Deferral Program and plans to attend in 2026 after gaining legislative experience at PFS.
