Dan Quan
Senior Advisor
Dan Quan is co-founder and General Partner at Nevcaut Ventures, a venture capital fund that primarily invests in early-stage fintech startups. Dan is also a Senior Advisor with McKinsey’s banking practice and Adjunct Scholar at the Cato Institute’s Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives. Dan previously served as Senior Advisor to Director Richard Cordray at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), where he led its fintech initiative, Project Catalyst.
A fintech thought leader, Dan works at the crossroads of policies, regulations, and financial services. Dan is well-versed in complex regulatory policy issues such as open banking, fair lending, credit reporting, and the use of artificial intelligence and alternative data in credit decisioning. Dan’s deep expertise in federal banking agencies, especially the CFPB, has made him a trusted advisor to both young fintech startups and large financial institutions.
Dan holds an MA in public administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and an MBA from Drexel University’s Bennet S. LeBow College of Business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
