Abby Truhart
Abby Truhart is a Vice President at Porterfield, Fettig & Sears LLC (PFS).
Abby has more than 13 years of experience in government relations with a vast knowledge and understanding of congressional affairs, leveraging PAC engagement, and developing grassroots campaigns to elevate and advance advocacy priorities for industry leaders.
Prior to joining PFS, Abby served as Vice President of Congressional Relations at the American Bankers Association (ABA), where she lobbied Congressional House and Senate Democrats on relevant financial services policy and legislation impacting the banking industry and their customers. Before ABA, Abby worked for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), as the Senior Director of Advocacy, lobbying congressional democrats to advance credit unions and bring awareness to their mission and structure. Abby also served as CUNA’s Political Director, managing over $3.5 million in disbursements to candidates running for Congress. Before joining CUNA, Abby led national PAC and grassroots action programs at the American College of Cardiology and the American Academy of Dermatology Association, contributing to increased visibility and overall engagement of specialty physician groups on Capitol Hill.
In addition, Abby has gained invaluable experiences volunteering for organizations that work for the betterment of women and children in Washington, D.C. She is a dedicated and committed member of her local community and served on the DC Commission for Women and the Executive Leadership Committee of the Metropolitan’s Women’s Democratic Club.
Abby holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. She resides with her husband, three children and chihuahua in Washington, D.C.
