An Experienced Approach to Government Relations

One of the policy areas that has been a constant in our Capitol Hill and private sector experience are issues surrounding housing and mortgage finance. We have deep experience with the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs and the House Financial Services Committee, as well as years of experience representing housing and mortgage finance clients (both companies and trade associations). We have accrued knowledge that ensures we provide the best strategic insight and advocacy on the entire range of housing and mortgage finance issues.

Porterfield, Fettig & Sears has been actively involved in every mortgage finance and housing legislation since the 1990s, as well the regulatory rulemaking that implements those laws. The housing and mortgage finance markets have undergone significant change over the past decade to react to the changing conditions after the Great Recession and in response to a number of laws and regulatory changes that have been implemented. From the Housing and Economic Recovery Act (HERA), the many housing impacts of the Dodd-Frank Act, as well as the decisions by the Department of Treasury, FHFA, HUD, FHA and the housing government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs), Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and the Federal Home Loan Banks. This is a dynamic industry that has only one constant: change.

Porterfield, Fettig & Sears gives your company or trade association the complete picture so your advocacy efforts have the best chance for success.
